Another way that Social Media has a negative impact on kids is that it lowers their self esteem. In the article, Being 13: Perils of Lurking on Social Media, CNN Wire states: “On all social media feeds, young people are highly likely to see pictures of friends gathering without them, or large groups having a great time at parties to which they were not invited.” Students could feel left out if they see a picture, say, of their friends without them, which could make them highly question if they are as cool as someone else or as popular as someone else.
