Instead of sending him to the counselor's office to atleast try to figure out why he/ she is misbehaving the way they are in class to see what can be done to prevent future problems teachers come up with silly disciplines that only makes behaviour worse. Then they come back to school the next day and continue the same behavior they had the previous…

Introduction Lumpkin County Parks and Rec was an experience I will never forget. As a future educator, it showed me how to treat children and how not to treat them. The program that I attended was only during the summer and was open from seven in the morning to six in the afternoon. There were around three to four college-aged counselors at a time looking after the children. None of the counselors were 4ducation majors, so they were not learning the different techniques of disciplining and treating children with respect.…

A mother picked up her six year old daughter Salecia from the police station where she sat in handcuffs from throwing a temper tantrum at school. She was then also suspended from school for her miss behavior (Mandell). Not only were the actions performed unnecessary, but incredibly harsh for a girl her age. 1. Explore the Issue Upon reviewing Laura Rivera’s ethical dilemma concerning Tyrone’s behavior as well as his parent’s harsh style of punishment, my first response would be to consult with the director of the program about my concerns. Meeting with the director will give insight on how to address Tyrone’s parents discipline style, not to mention, help me to organize my thoughts before I confront them (Artifact 1). Equally important I must identify the stakeholders in this dilemma, which are Tyrone, his classmates, his classmates’ families, his parents, his teachers, along with the director and other administrators of the center. To be honest, I hate school with a passion, yet I love learning as much as living. As a child, schooling created a feeling of loneliness and sadness that echoed throughout my life, even now. I didn’t meet the standard levels for literacy and was separated from my classmates in elementary school for special reading and writing classes. Also the lack of freedom to say and move the way I wished to, and the rebellion that stemmed out of me in middle school due to these limitations. Finally, the conforming in high school to appease my mother, friends that drove me over the edge, yet even now I feel the same bull-crap in college.…

“Parenting gone wrong” is a phrase used to describe a child’s bad behaviour when he or she does something unexpected. Many call this phrase harsh because one can never control children. If children behave in a certain way later on in life it can’t be blamed on their upbringing, but does it really have nothing to do with bad parenting when a child feels abandoned and feels that they have been forced to do something they never wanted to? The story “Next term, we’ll mash you”, which is written by Penelope Lively, focuses on how the bond between parents and children can affect a child’s life.…
