In order to get rid of the cursing behavior from her husband Bianca used extinction principal technique for behavior modification process. First she identifies the behavior that needs to be corrected. Then she did an ABC analysis of her husband’s behavior. And find out that which events or situation cause her husband to start cursing a lot. She finds out that because his husband was in the Army and people curse a lot in that lifestyle. She understands how difficult it gets while our citizen training in the army. When army provides safety for our country there comes some negatives as well. As we all know that most teenagers never take ownership of their mistakes and become disrespectful to elder and their sibling, sometimes they even verbally abuse. Jorge identifies that his son is also going through the same stage of life. In addition, his son plays a victim card and blame on others around him. He has been bouncing around six different colleges over the last three and half years trying to play organized basketball at the college level. Whenever he has been questioned, he takes out the victim card and state that the “Coach was singling him out and picking on him.” Before Jorge and his wife tried to use negative reinforcement techniques by putting him in stressful situations, if he doesn’t correct his behavior. This technique did not help them at all. So they decided to go with Extinction principle. However, we think that it 's more about positive reinforcement than extinction principle as they promised him to buy a car for his son if he stayed in college and complete his education without dropping off. Now measuring against the base rate Jorge son is focused on studies and basketball in college level. Jorge should have done the ABC behavioral analysis and find out why is it that his son was bouncing to six different schools and not respecting others. This can be either learned at school or his company is not good. He should have invited his son’s friends over and see how they are raised and analyze their …show more content…
By doing the ABC analysis she finds out that her brother has been spoiled by her mother. He doesn’t even move to drink water. He only work, comes home, and play games all day long. He wants someone to bring food in his bed, clean his room, wash his clothes, and find his stuff when he loses it. She got so frustrated with the situation and talk to her brother that she gets so tired of working full-time, taking more than full-time classes, preparing meal every day, washing dishes, cleaning house and helping him do his laundry. As a result, his brother decided to help her out by cooking food; however, he created a mess. In order to clean it, she spend approximately an hour. Her mistake was that she explained his brother about her frustration, but she didn’t provide him with guidelines and the task that needed to be done. Afterwards, she decided to bribe his brother that if he clean his room then she will cook his favorite dish, and if he does his laundry she will help him fold it. As a result, his brother only cleans his room when she prepares his favorite dish. And she can’t cook the same dish over and over again as all the other family members have other preferences.
