Evolution Of The Apes

Life and its reasons have been one of the most controversial debates for decades. The study of life or rather the study of beginning of life has been around for more than two-hundred years. The topics that involve the study of life include metaphysics, ontology, and philosophy. Stay here and read the paper to find out how close humanity has been to finding the answer to the beginning of life. As far back as records show, Aristotle, a Greek philosopher and a scientist was the very first mathematician. Although he did not consider his work as metaphysics like modern society does, others did. Aristotle said, “all men suppose what is called wisdom to deal with the first causes and principles of things” and this is what leads to his work that he later called ‘first philosophy’. As Aristotle later went on to study ‘first philosophy’ he found out to …show more content…
The most common theory is God made Adam and Eve and they created the rest of mankind. Another is God created Adam and Eve from dirt and wind, then God took a rib from Adam and formed the humans. The evolution of the Apes is a theory most people believe because the humans population is to similar to the apes themselves. There are several different theories on how humans were formed or created or even evolved. The reason why the meaning of life cannot be solved is there are so many different religions and theories that differ from each other. The meaning of life will never be solved. With a lot of research done, there seems to be three main belief systems that everyone seems to ‘believe in’- creation science, the theistic evolution view, and the scientific view. The creation science states that ‘god’ created everything in 6 days each consisting of 24 hours and that all the plants and animals that once existed are now extinct. Creation sciences says that ‘god created animals similar to the animal that we know but throughout time there were

Do you know that over the past 20 years, surveys indicated there is a continual decline in apes population? The population of apes has further declined from the number 100,000 in 1980, and this decline will continue if we don’t help them to survive.…

The first of the four creationist beliefs is Strict (“young-Earth”) creationism. This form of creationism fits perfectly in the biblical creationism approach, because they believe in the literal purport of the book of Genesis, in that the universe and everything in it was created roughly six thousand years ago in six days. Along with that, they believe that the great (Noachian) flood killed all the inhabitants of the earth, other than those on the ark (Fitch 40-41). Strict “young-Earth” creationism is the only creationist belief that is in the biblical creationism approach. The second creationist belief, which was popular in the early nineteenth century, is “old-Earth” creationism. “Old-Earth” creationist affirm that the Earth is very old, and that the use of “day” in the Bible actually identifies an age or geological epoch instead of a 24-hour period of time (Bailey 5). Because of the mixture of both science and religion, “old-Earth” creationism would be a scientific biblical approach. The next creationist belief is Theism. A theist believes that God is there to hear our prayers, and intervene to serve His ends, and nothing more. A theist is not concerned if the literal translation of the book of Genesis contradicts evolution, because they treat the Bible more as a moral compass instead of actual facts. With any conflicts between the Bible and evolution, the…

Chapter 6 discussed the distinct characteristics of primates and how they compare to other mammals and the text highlights some specific traits to consider. Along with arboreal adaptation-or the ability to live in trees- and diet plasticity, primates also practice parental investment. Instead of having hundreds or thousands of offspring, primates will invest more time and attention to a very small number of offspring that are smarter, more socially involved, and have greater chances of reaching maturity. There are a few defining characteristics of parental investment; the first being fertility. Like humans, primates will mostly give birth to one offspring at a time; occasionally two or three. This allows more time and resources that can be…

Brain and lower spine implants are helping seemly helpless, paralyzed monkeys walk again. For this to work the monkeys need two chips implants. One in their brain and one toward the bottom of their spine. A team of researchers tried to code the computer chip to recognize and interpret signs and signals from the brain that would tell the other parts of the body to move. They then cut a small part of the spinal cord to implant the chip to see if the monkey would be able to move again. It worked.…

One of the most important parts of the primate evolution is when the primates changed in body structure and locomotion. Although some may say that the origin of the human bipedalism is a persistent mystery (Gebo 1996); however, the evolution of bipedalism began in order to survive through climate changes, be able to hunt their food and get away from danger in order to survive. Primate locomotion can be classified into four major types: vertical clinging and leaping, quadrupedalism, brachiating and bipedalism (Groves, 2014). Over the millions of years, primates have been adapting to the changing environment therefore improving the structure of their bodies and speed (“Evolution…

The subject these scientists are interested is the brain. They want to know whether the abnormal spindle gene (ASPM gene), important for encoding human homologue for spindle function, is responsible for an abnormal brain growth disorder (MCPH). They know that during primate evolution there has been a significant increase in brain growth, but are unaware of what causes this increase. The central nervous system is the only thing being affected by individuals whom have MCPH. To test their hypothesis, they use Koch’s Postulates to identify whether the ASPM gene is responsible to MCPH. In this study (Kouprina, 2004), they isolated the ASPM gene homologue from gorillas, orangutan, chimpanzee and macaque through Transformation Associated Recombination…

The Gorilla is a very large and powerful ape. There legs are short and there arms are longer. The apre is the largest out of the four types. The gorilla's face is quite similar to ours. The gorilla has two eyes. They have nostrils much bigger than the humans. They also have a mouth right beneath their nose. The face is the only part that is not protected in fur on the apes body. These Apes can be found in the dense rainforests in africa and occasionally in bamboo forests. A gorilla is a herbivore which means it only eats plants. Some of the plants in its diet are fruits, bamboo, and bark from trees. Most gorillas like to establish their territory and make a group to help sustain that territory. One male…

Rocky has been around humans ever since he was born so they think he learned it by hearing someone say something that sounded like it before. Rob Shumaker director of the Indianapolis Zoo had never heard this sound before from an Orangutan. Four years ago Rob and some colleagues from Europe joined together at Indianapolis Zoo to do some research on Rocky they tested his voice so they would be able to tell if he could control his voice to imitate humans. The research turned out positive the 11 year old Orangutan was able to control his voice box better than what scientist once thought.…

How did life begin? Where did humans come from? The origin of man is a mystery of the universe, however, there is a long-lasting battle raging between the Christian belief and scientists. Christians believe God created Adam and Eve six thousand years ago, and that all the humans, animals, plants of the world began at that time. This theory is called creationism, and their evidence is everything written in the Bible. However, scientists believe in the theory of evolution. They believe organisms change over time as a result allowing it to adapt to its environment better. This helps it survive and have more offspring, which leads to the development of humans from apes. Scientists has proven evolution by fossil, anatomical, and molecular records. While both Christians and scientists have their theories, creationism is based on beliefs, whereas evolution is based on facts and data, therefore it’s more accurate.…

    When Does Life Begin

Biology is the natural science that involves the study of life and living organisms (Wikipedia). We are presented the question to discuss this week, when does life begin? I believe that there are two main stances on this topic. One side chooses to believe that life beguins at conception. The other side believes that life begins at the birth. Those who believe that life begins at birth have often found peace in their desicion by refferencing Genesis 2:7 Then the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature. They break down this verse and see that man did not become a living creature until he had breathed the breath of life. One could make the argument that breath is the first sign of…

Erwin Schrödinger was a physicist pioneer who gave a series of lectures in 1944. They were published under the title What is Life? (Harold, 2001). Though philosophical in nature, many have wondered if life can be reduced to biology or even further down to chemistry. This sent many scientists looking for the answer and spawned the guiding question, could human life be artificially created at the cellular level?…
