Nonattachment: I believe I have to work on not being so attached to materialistic things and events that occur in my life. It’s very hard now a days to not be materialistic and to not be attached to the idea that we need nice things to be happy. In fact, if an event does occur in my life and it pertains to something of materialistic value, then something as insignificant as breaking my tablet or slightly denting my car could cause me a lot of stress. Instead, this summer, I plan to spend less money on materialistic trinkets, and invest more in activities I can do with friends and family. For example, instead of wasting $50 on a dress, I can use that money for gas to drive to the mountains with my friends for a hike. That would probably cost less money and would help me maintain healthy relationships, which is better. Or instead of wasting $20 dollars for lunch at Burger King, I can prepare a healthier meal at home and dine with my family. On both of these example, I would be practicing ways to not be materialistic, learning how to be present in the moment, and maintaining healthy relationships. Those would be three qualities that would increase my life satisfaction and make me a happier
