Before To Kill Lincoln Play Analysis

Lincoln was going to have a normal fun day. He wouldn't have thought that on April 14 1865 he would die. The killer of Lincoln was named John Wilkes Booth. John was a famous actor loved by many. John has planned on killing Lincoln since forever. John had other people that was in on the plan as well. Their names were David Herold and Mary Surratt. John has gotten close to killing Lincoln before but failed because he got the times wrong. He even had a plot of kidnapping Lincoln and taking him to richmond. John had found out where Lincoln was headed out on the night of April 14 1865. Lincoln along with his wife and a army officer named Henry Rathbone along with Rathbones fiance. Before Booth even got to the play he had prepared 8 hours before. He had everything ready. He got guns ammunition and what not. Mary Surratt had helped John tell information on where and what Lincoln was doing. Mary was later on hunged with several other men who had helped John assassinate Lincoln. Some point in the afternoon Booth had all his plans all set up and ready to kill Lincoln. The gun Booth had shotten Lincoln with was a .44 caliber single shot. It was a small pocket sized handgun. He knew that he would only have one shot and he was going to risk it. If he missed to shoot Lincoln his backup weapon would be a Rio Grande camp knife. Booth had now went to make his move. He snuck up to the president's box waiting for the right moment. John knew that a scene with only one actor up would be playing next. Booth even knew their would be a lot of laughter in the crows so it would cover up the noise. Booth then went up to lincoln's head pulled the trigger. It hit lincoln in the head on the lower left side. Rathbone had gotten up to attack Booth but failed and Booth had sliced him with the
