As Leonardo DiCaprio traveled to third world countries such as India, it depicted school children forced to face mask outdoors due to the vast amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Along with this, DiCaprio traveled to the country of Indonesia and revealed a video of forests being burned down and large amounts of carbon dioxide being released. In addition to this, DiCaprio explored the arctic of the Alaska to convey the image of Narwhals’ environment slowly being deteriorated by the climate heating. With these examples, they intensified the situation the environment is really in and give the audience a sense of empathy in doing something to prevent such causes. Furthermore, a depiction of flood houses being wiped out and families left out on the streets created a sense of empathy and sadness which appealed to the eyes of emotion. Following this, DiCaprio summed up the current state of Earth with an artwork piece that essentially displays ‘humankind before the flood’. This concludes the situation on climate change by adding on to the fact that we’re in a state of changing into a phase where the ground is dark, sky is black, and everything around us becomes charred and burnt. Although some of his methods to create his claim on climate change were countered by underlying factors, Fisher Stevens was able to counterbalance the opposing opinions by adding on to the support he already gathered from multiple sources. With the usage of emotion like depictions of narwhals, logical statistics such as US data, and credibility of presidents, Stevens would efficiently be able to get his claim across the board and allow the audience to agree with his beliefs.
