A poem written by Anne Bradstreet “to my dear and loving husband ” written to her husband when he was away is used to show how she loves her husband more than anything in the world . As a puritan herself she should love god more than she loves her husband and family. But there are various instances throughout her poems that she doesn’t live this beliefs to the fullest degree. In the poems we have read as a class we can see that she has a priority of love to her husband but nonetheless she loves her children and god but not quite as the immense love described in the poems to her husband .
