Before Presidency Theodore Roosevelt was born on October 27, 1858 in Manhattan, New York City, New York to Martha Bulloch Roosevelt and Theodore Roosevelt Senior. Roosevelt's father was a Philanthropist and business man. He was part owner of Roosevelt and Son, a family business. Theodore Roosevelt came from a long line of wealthy people. Roosevelt had three siblings; Elliot Bulloch Roosevelt, Bamie Roosevelt, and Corrine Roosevelt Robinson. Theodore Roosevelt was the second oldest of his siblings. Theodore Roosevelt was in poor health as a child due to his asthma and bad eyesight. However, he decided he was not going to let his disability define him, so he began working out vigorously and would partake in many physical activities. He continued this lifestyle throughout his life. Roosevelt enjoyed swimming, riding horses, hiking, boxing, traveling, martial arts, wrestling, and hunting. He was very adventurous and young spirited.

He was William McKinley's Vice President after Garret Hobart died of cardiovascular disease. Roosevelt became president in 1901 when William McKinley was assassinated by Leon Czolgosz. He was in office from September 14, 1901- March 4, 1909. Theodore Roosevelt was a Republican, but he also had liberal ideas, which is why the Republicans wanted him in this position. They thought Roosevelt would not be able to do much with it. Little did they know McKinley was going to be assassinated and he was going to be their next president. Theodore Roosevelt was unusual yet productive president. Theodore Roosevelt focused on foreign affairs a lot even though the Americans of the time would rather the U.S.A be more isolated.
