Before Medicating Children Research Paper

Teacher: Prescribing medications to people who are in desperate need for mental illness is an exception because for some it may get them through their day. As for prescribing medications to children who suffer with bipolar disorder between the ages of four to six is inaccurate. It is known these children are suffering from behavioral and emotional problems but, children who do not behave in their norm for childhood behavior automatically are prescribed medicine instead of finding other solutions such as therapy before medicating them? We cannot go by ‘one size fits all’ in this particular topic because not every single child who is diagnosed with this disorder needs to have medicine shoved down their throat.
Sorin: The construct on childhood to assume these children need to be drugged at such a young age in order to be able to continue with their day would fall under the matrix chart as the child being innocent. This is a time of innocence that can not be undone and is known to be the best part of our lives. Children are in need of protection from their parents because they are weak on their own. Humans are born to look out for one another as for these parents are taking care of their children, doing anything in their power to reduce the pain they are going through.

Lancy: (adult who approved of drugging children) How are these parents teaching their children when they are looking for an easy way out to help themselves from dealing less with these problems? No one can learn from these actions if they look towards medicine to help
