Discriminating beer drinkers got high-quality beer from generalist brewers before the late 1970s. The generalist brewers go with heterogeneous targets, producing a wide range of beers including low-quality, middle-quality and high-quality beers.

That was when the economies of scale occurred, which the average cost of producing one good decreased as the number of goods being produced increased. To make the greatest advantage of the economies of scale, the generalists focused on the products which were most popular among consumers. The middle-quality beers appealed to most consumers, and thus the generalists focused on them, and no longer produced low-quality and high-quality beers. One of the solutions to change the balance of power between universities and students is, taking the organizations which deal with student affairs out of the control of the administrators. My solution to balance the power is to establish a student organization which deals with student feedbacks regarding the university and supervises administrators. Rather than controlled by the administrators, the organization is controlled by a nonprofit city student organization which promote student right and power.
