________________________________________________________________________ Could you imagine being a ten year old boy with a facial deformity starting school for the first time? Well, that’s what August Pullman is going through in R.J. Palacio’s book “Wonder.”August, also known as Auggie, was born with a disease called Treacher Collins Syndrome. This disease caused him to have many surgeries, thus the reason Auggie was homeschooled. Now that Auggie has improved his parents made him start fifth grade at Beecher Prep. Some people may believe that Auggie going to school had a positive impact on his life.While others believe the impact was negative. I believe that Auggie’s experience at Beecher Prep had its ups and downs, but overall it turned …show more content…
Jack was one of those lifelong friends. Jack and Auggie fought sometime, but don’t we all?” Auggie and Jack were inseparable. I hung out with Jack in Homeroom,English,History,Computer,Music, and Science. Which were all the classes we had together,”(109) said Auggie. Another one of those life long friends was Summer. Auggie didn’t want to go to his sisters play, but when Auggie saw his sister get a standing ovation he thought everyone should get that.
