I intended to show a player with great passion and love for the game. I wanted to show a struggle, but that he has the heart and determination to keep going and never give up no matter what challenge he faces. I wanted to freeze a highlight in time so it can be remembered forever. My painting contains the home team quarterback backpedaling to dodge the best player he has ever faced. The curved lines in the shoulders and arms of both players leads the eyes from a single side of a player to the center point of contact. Different values were used to show shadows, movement, creases, and shape. I made the choice to not include extensive detail in the faces. I felt that it would take away from the feel of the painting. I chose to not include the

High prices and the smell of grease are the main characteristics of this place. The long faced workers dressed in red shirts with the logo on the front and long black pants, scraped greasy pans and washed dirty dishes. The identically dressed workers also answered phones, made pizzas and helped others at the front desk. The countless number of hungry customers poured in and out of the building. I saw red all over, red floors, red pizza boxes, red uniforms, red pizza sauce and red counters.…

In the book “The Naked Roommate” by Harlan Cohen there are five tips that I could take out and apply to my life about my own health. The first of the five tips is “Freshman 15, or um 45”, I can apply this to my life because it applies to my weight. Being able to control my eating at my house where there aren't multiple fast food restaurants and an all you can eat buffet at Larson's commons was a lot easier than college. It can be hard to control myself from the temptations, but when I notice myself gaining weight it makes it a lot easier to want to go exercise and eat healthy. The second tip that can apply to me is “The student body image”, because body image is something that is very important to me.…

Although the location of my study areas vary, I decided to choose the one where the majority of studying is done which is in my bedroom on the bed. The set up of the area will include surrounding myself with textbooks, two laptaps (one for note taking, the other for research), different colors pens, a notebook, snacks and of course my cell phone. While studying I normally have the television on but its muted. For the purpose of the reaction paper I thought it would be more accurate to have someone observe my actions.…

Every kid wants to experiment when they are younger. Some of us just seem to make a massive mess when we do it. Of course our parents always tell us that we should be careful not to stain our carpets with anything, and that is where I made my mistake. I was sitting in my room bored with nothing to do. May I remind you that this is not a good thing for a seven year old to be doing.…

It was a cold summer night and I could see the sun setting over the lake as I was arranging the lawn chairs around the campfire. I tried to dodge the clouds of gnats as I was running back and forth getting all the cards, snacks, and music ready. Just as I finished I saw the thirty teenagers walking up the long path to the camp directors house ready to participate in an evening activity I planned for them. I watched the girls race to get seats on the lawn chairs and helped the others find seats so they didn’t have to sit on the wet grass. The girls were laughing and having fun…

My child observation and classroom observation took place at the Mt. San Jacinto Child Development and Education center in the preschool/pre-k (ages 36 months to 54 months) program room. This classroom has 2 teachers and 15 children in attendance during my observation. My study child is a male student age 4 who for this assignment I will refer to as C. The classroom environment as a whole can handle the children within the program, however I will provide a better picture of the entire room to have a clear picture for reflection. As a child walking into this classroom you feel a sense of warmth of both the environment and also from the teacher as she greats all her children individually.…

The alternative site that I observed was an in-home program for children with autism. The child I observed was a 4-year-old boy with moderate autism and was mostly nonverbal. The program was privately owned by a woman who had her Ph.D. in Applied Behavior Analysis. The therapist who worked one-on-one with the student was in the process of receiving her Ph.D. in Applied Behavior Analysis. The parents paid $120 per hour for these services, but I think they received some financial aid through the government .…

A Room of One’s Own is an essay written by Virginia Woolf exploring women’s roles as writers as well as characters in stories. The essay is based on her lectures given at at Newnham College and Girton College. The main theme concerning A Room of One’s Own is that of analyzing women’s role in society such as their accessibility to education or labor and how women are portrayed in fiction. She makes the point that "a woman must have money and a room of her own if she is to write fiction" which is emphasized when she introduces herself as the narrator and states that the reader can "call [her] Mary Beton, Mary Seton, Mary Carmichael or by any name you please—it is not a matter of any importance". This thesis of hers is what propels her to investigate the situation as well as derive the title.…
