Becoming a Marine Biologist is an ideal profession for me because I have a love for the ocean and a passion for sharks. A Marine Biologist studies all types of sea creatures and can specialize in studying large ocean animals. A Marine Biology education provides me with the knowledge; for studying, observing, and protecting a specific marine life that is very important to me. Since the release of the 1975 movie “Jaws”; I was captivated by this majestic species. I have always felt a kindred spirit with sharks, and want to help be part of a solution to change the general population’s perception of sharks; by educating; why sharks are important to our oceans, become involved with the conservation efforts of tagging and monitoring this endangered
