What makes Quinnipiac different from the rest, is the community it sets forth for its faculty and students. Together we are one and can create a difference in each other’s lives. I want to be a Link Crew Leader because I would love to be able to mentor freshman as my previous Link Crew Leaders did to me. I also feel that becoming a Link Crew Leader would not only allow me to help shape freshman to become better people but to help me become a better person myself. I have been both a volunteer at a summer program for first and second graders and an assistant coach for the special needs program at Alta Loma Little League. At the summer program I was tasked with teaching 3 classes of first graders to type and code. This leadership position not only taught me how to actively communicate with people who learn in different ways, but also taught me to become a stronger leader.…

It was up to me to teach her the tricks of the trade for everything-- from tying her shoes to studying for her first math test. Although I didn’t have any designated leadership positions during my early years of high school, it was the similarly intimate, accidental moments of leadership that colored my participation in my extracurriculars.…

As a previous ambassador at my high school, I have found a fond passion of servant leadership. What I loved most of all about being an ambassador was teaching and interacting with other students who were passionate about learning and serving other people; this program brought out the best in me as a person and a Hawaiian leader. I'm hoping that being apart of these programs would help me to find a common interest and passion with others at Pace. I mainly want to work with other students who want to strengthen their leadership skills and apply those skills to life and continue to pass on these skills as words of encouragement to others. I also believe that I would bring diversity to this program because I am from the Pacific region.…

In Student Affairs we can challenge students to think creatively, speak boldly, and lead fiercely in their college careers. Students attend college to gain knowledge and learn at a higher level of thinking, to me that means we must challenge them to adapt and learn more about themselves, the world they live in, and how they would like to fit into the world around them. As Student Affairs professionals, we can provide students with leadership experience and challenge their developmental growth through leadership, teaching students that leadership is not only about holding a position but rather the behaviors of working towards shared goals and ideals (Komives,…

Those small things have allowed me to transform into the person that I am today.…
