Becoming A Trader Video Analysis

Improved Essays
The “becoming a trader” video is similar to the ORU concept of bringing healing to every person’s world because we individually choose to use our time, money, and skills to help people. If we are going to have a career and work we might as well put that time to good use and be a blessing to our employer, and everyone else around us.
If I can use my profession in finance to help others, it would be to encourage them to live for Jesus. Many people know about Jesus but do not have a close intimate fellowship with Him. For many, their religion is just a tradition of men, which makes the Word of God of none effect (Mark 7:13 King James Version). When my husband and I were Pastors we had so many people come to us and want to know how to hear from God. They thought it was so strange that we hear from God and He leads us daily. I want people to know how good and faithful God is, that He loves them and want the very best for them. Several years ago I was a Controller for a small company. I was always positive and helpful to our employees. They started coming to me on their break and after work asking for prayer and

I believe one of the best ways is to strive to love like God loves us. It is a choice to love people, it’s a decision, it is not a feeling. If we had more love in this world today it would be drastically different. I want to see people through God’s eyes of love. I ask Him to help me to see people and love them like He does. Another way is to use the verse Gal 5:22-23 about the fruit of the spirit “But the fruit of the Spirit of love, joy, peace, long-suffering. Gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance; against such there is no law” (King James Version). When I exercise these fruits, I am demonstrating I am maturing in my walk with Him. Patience is a fruit that I’m constantly working on. When you are patient with people it puts them at ease and it allows them to open up to

Jonathan Kozol’s “Preparing Minds for Markets” offers an insight into the modern public education system and the curriculums provided by inner city schools today. The author wants to point out the flaws in the education system and expose the corporate corruption that has occurred in government funded schools. While many students in these lower income neighborhoods would benefit from some of these changes to the statutory educational agenda, forcing job training and career decisions onto elementary students is a grave injustice. “Preparing Minds for Markets” was an extremely interesting expose about how corporate America has taken over the public education system. According to this piece, corporations are influencing legislation that corrupts…

In Matthew 5-7 Sermon on the Mount Jesus explains, how to live a life that is dedicated to and pleasing to God, free from hypocrisy, full of love and grace, full of wisdom and discernment. His main argument is that we should turn the other cheek to those that have done wrong and evil thins to us. The reason being is that if we respond with negativity we can only cause more negativity, which causes you not only to have an impure soul but can have an effect on those around you. I agree with this argument because there will be people in your life that will show negativity toward you and seeping to their level can make you just as bad as that person. This is a lesson even a non-Christian can learn from because if you show others positivity that is what you will get back, and if you decide to seek vengeance or resent the person that has done you wrong it will only start an interpersonal war that can lead to even more problems.…

The benefits that I hope to gain are how to extend my Christianity from my regular home and church life into practicing it continuously in my school and work life. This portfolio will allow me to grow in my interpersonal effectiveness by having my strengths and weaknesses displayed in my own writing. I will be able to critique myself and evaluate on my own knowledge and behavior (Baldwin, Bommer, Rubin, 2013, p. 49). Developing this portfolio has taught me to dive deep into my thoughts and the Bible’s teachings of a Christian worldview and practice it even in a secular work environment.…

In Lydia Davis’s short story, “The Old Dictionary” a person reflects on how they treats things. It is pointed out that he or she worries more about a book and not his or her own son. This dictionary means more to that person than their own son. A child needs looking after as well as plants and pets. A book is something to sit on a shelf, not something to focus a life around.…

According to Merriam-Webster’s dictionary mercy is“compassion shown to an offender” but it is not only the offender but to those who are distressed (Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary and Thesaurus 665). This compassion and forgiveness brings us closer to others and to God. It is the quality that God expects humans to use freely as He has used mercy with all of humankind. It is the “the bridge that connects God and man” (Pope Francis Misericordiae Vultus). Mercy is to be used with everyone as it is what holds the world together and keeps people from destroying each other completely.…

Sim #2 Big Idea: Philippians 2:1-4 a great verse that explains Christs perfect love. If we are truly following the Lord then we should be able to humbly share God’s love from the depths of our hearts as lead by Jesus’s example. This verse really spoke to me when I read it. It caused me to reflect. If we really are living in Christ’s love then we should be able to share his love out of our inner hearts with the interest of helping others.…

Many people search throughout their lives for the answers to how the universe came to be. Some people believe that through science these questions can be answered. The majority, however, believes that there is a higher power at work that has designed the world and its inhabitants for a purpose. It is this author 's opinion that the higher power at work in the world is the benevolent God of the Bible.
