“If you really want to do something, you will find a way. If you don’t, you’ll find an excuse.” - Unknown. I think wanting to accomplish something is one thing we all have set in our minds. One thing I want to accomplish is becoming a therapist. Becoming a therapist means that I’ll help guide others, benefit myself, and unravel mysteries of the mind. Firstly, if I am a therapist I can help others. Helping others has always been important to me throughout my life so far. Since I am the youngest of five, I know how it feels to be the underdog and not get much help. My siblings are all grown up and have too much on their plate. When becoming a therapist, I can learn the complex human mind and how it reacts to certain situations. One thing I’d be utterly excited learning about is body language. I have always heard people say that term but I never really knew what it meant. I am ready to put my skills to use when I become a therapist. Everyone is different with different mindsets. Becoming a therapist excites me because I get to meet new people, hear their story, and guide them on a journey. I will get to see them genuinely smile in the end when the battle is all over and they’ve conquered it all. Another reason is because I can hear kept secrets from others. It’s a bit exciting for me to hear someone’s secrets. I enjoy listening to people vent to me about themselves and the dark things about them; it’s so suspenseful and interesting. Lastly, internal, external! When becoming a therapist I must be accepting of all and not judge a book by its cover. I must give each client a chance. I have met some awesome people throughout my life I didn’t think could be that awesome. Becoming a therapist will be great for me. I enjoy helping my friends and guiding them through any problems they may come across.
