Becoming A Teacher Coach Essay

Being a high school athlete is what has driven me to want to become a teacher coach. At the age of twelve, I lost the most important person in my life, the one who I looked up to as a role model that person was my father. After his death the world completely crashed down on me, putting me through a depression. Just as I was at my breaking point my friend encouraged that I try basketball. Coming from a small school where everyone eats and breathes basketball, I didn’t assume I could compete with the other kids or that they wouldn’t accept me considering I didn’t carry the skill. The day I started Jr. high basketball was one of the best decisions of my life. Being a part of the team made me feel cheerful. The whole team tried to help me out in practice and my coach quickly turned into my role model in the absence of my father. I wasn’t the best when I started, but coach always believed in me. “You have to love what you do. If you don’t love what you do it will wear you out because there’s no perfect game even when you win you make a ton of mistakes. I love the sport and the team atmosphere and although I know it will be a tough career, I am determined to accomplish my dream. I will be a motivator to every single one of my players so they feel comfortable around me. I will be a supporter, respecting every single decision they make. I will be a friend on and off the court I will be there for whatever they need. Last but most importantly I will be a coach to guide them to
