program, which allowed me to work with diverse students. I have been with the program for nine years, and it has helped me grow in the career path when working with students with special needs. In the after school program the students I worked with were diverse, which allowed me to learn how to work with the students and their needs. One year, I had a student that was diagnosed with Autism, the parents and school worked together to support the student. Being part of the team to help the student enhance his way of learning, and the transition to a different class is when I realized I wanted to work in the special education field. Being part of the team environment to help my student succeed helped me find the career path I wanted to take when it came to working with students. The experience of coming together to help the students was a team effort for the school and the family, and being part of the process allowed me to find the field I wanted to enter as a teacher. State Long Beach will be the perfect fit for my career as a teacher is based on the program goal. The program goal to becoming a successful teacher for students and their academic needs is an important component to having a passion for teaching. Helping students with special needs is a career path I am extremely passionate about, because regardless of a student’s challenge they must be motivated to able to accomplish their academic and life goals. I am an individual that is willing to be patient with students, and give them the tools to finding the best solution for them.
