To become a physical therapist it requires years of education in the fields of Anatomy which is the study of the structure and the shape of the body and the relationship between body parts, the field of Kinesiology which is the study of bodily movements, the field of physical fitness which is the general state of health and wellbeing but mainly the ability to perform aspects of sports and certain occupations, and the last field that one would have to take to become a physical therapist is the field of biology which is the study of living things. Physical therapist also train in psychology by taking this training it gives them a better understanding which can help clients cope with challenges not just physically but emotionally as well. To become a physical therapist you need to take many courses in Physiology, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and Anatomy. For physical therapy you would need to complete a 'Doctor of Physical Therapy” degree program. DPT programs have course work in Functional anatomy, complex conditions, life span development, applied physical therapy, Pharmacotherapy, and life span development. In all states Physical therapists must be licensed. All states have different licensing requirements but all physical therapist must past the National physical therapy examination and the NPTE is administered through the Federation of States boards of Physical Therapy known as (FSBPT.) The NPTE is a multiple choice test on the computer; if you apply to become a Physical therapist you must take the exam three times in a twelve month period. Applicants may find a practice exam which is also created by the FSBPT. Some states may require a law exam and criminal background check.
