Becoming A Pharmacy Technician

To become a pharmacy technician or pharmacy technician trainee, one must be registered with the Texas State of Board of Pharmacy (TSBP). When the TSBP notifies an individual of registration, then they may work in a pharmacy which will provide initial on the job training. Also, individuals must have a high school diploma or GED, be over 18 years of age, a criminal background check with fingerprints, attended a formal education or training program, take an exam offered by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board, and or fees.
An education or training program is required in Texas to work in a pharmacy. Once a person graduates from school they will become a trainee and they will have two years to take the PTCB exam. To perform the duties of
