Pediatric Nurse Personal Statement

Whether it is knowledge, integrity, success or accomplishment, being a nurse stands as a symbol for all. It all started out with a baby cry in the surgical operating room, when one of the midwives handed me my baby brother. As everyone knows, nothing is sweeter than a tiny baby finger, rosy little lip, two little eyes and a chubby face. I came from a big family consist of two brothers and four sisters. As the oldest girl I was often responsible for my younger siblings. Just around the time I was applying to college, I had debated between my heart and mind on whether nursing was right for me. I hope one day I will be one of my patient’s heroes. After exploring this career field, I am even more convinced that it is the job I want. I feel I am ready and willing to spend every minute to make a difference in people 's lives. The best part of working in the nursing field is that it never gets old. There are always new challenges arising every day and new opportunities at every turn. I believe becoming a nurse has made me a better person. My experiences have taught me more than the real education I received about this field. I’ve become more confident, caring, patient, and above all compassionate. I have never participated in anything in my life that proved to be more rewarding than being a nurse. Being a nurse to me is more than just having a career or even a good salary. It 's about a heart that has been touched countless times from caring and giving them to patients from all backgrounds, no matter what race, sex or religion they have.
