Neonatal Nurse Practitioner A career that I hope to pursue after college, is becoming a neonatal nurse practitioner. A neonatal nurse practitioner is something I have been dreaming about since I was a child. Saving lives and taking care of babies, is something that I feel I would enjoy very much. I am planning to attend St. Catherine University (St.Kate’s) next fall, where I plan to get a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Shortly after, I plan on working as a nurse in order to work towards becoming a neonatal nurse practitioner. Eventually, I plan on studying Child Health and Neonatal Nursing program to get my Master’s in Neonatal Nursing, to become a neonatal nurse practitioner. I have always loved and have had a passion for babies and taking care of them. I know and understand, that not every baby is going to survive. Trying to save as many as I possibly can, is what matters. Being apart of a team that is willing to fight along side a baby, to do absolutely everything in their power to keep the baby alive is what I would call dedication. Being a neonatal nurse practitioner, you’re always going to have to be in the game, everyone is going to be a team player. There can’t be any slacking on any level, at any time during the game, or in this case a fight for survival. Being a neonatal nurse practitioner is what I want to go to school for, and do as a career eventually. To me, it doesn’t matter how many steps, or hoops I have to jump through, this is something I really want to do with my life and be apart of. In the future, down the road I may change my mind and choose to change my path, but as of right now I don’t see that happening anytime soon. One day I hope to become a Neonatal Nurse
