How did it go?
When reflecting on Sweeney elementary school field day and teacher observation, I could make many comparisons to the Book Becoming a Master Teacher. When running field day activities you noticed right away a universal discipline was employed. The system was more on the side of assertive disciple, when seeing students off task or misbehaving they would receive a warning, when continuing to misbehave they would be asked to sit-out or be removed from the activity. This system worked really well because all students had a clear understanding of behavioral expectations. The field day events ran on time, there was a planed time system. Teachers were given a card with the order, times and location of which event each class needed to be at, so that there were no miscommunications. With the time system some teacher still would not be on time with their classes. When observing the teachers that showed up late to each station, always looked unhappy and were overweight. These teachers are the ones that complained the most and probably lack respect for the physical education perfusion. The activities that the student …show more content…
The teacher had time to finish setting up and interact with a few students in the class before starting the lesson. The instant activity made this possible; it also allowed students to be more focused when starting the lesson. When starting the introduction to the lesson plan the teacher did a good job of giving them one cue and objective at a time, students really grasped the objective of the lesson plan. Students didn’t have any confusion on what the purpose of the lessons objective. When the instant activity was over students had an idea of what they would be doing in class that day, scaffolding some ideas. Moe was also very knowledgeable with the activities she thought, giving the students a lot of feedback on music and
