Becoming A Drummer Research Paper

Ever sense I was a young child I always had dreams of becoming a drummer. Weather it be at church every Sunday morning, or at the restaurant that had live music, I would always watch so closely. I would watch them play with such great speed and dynamics that in my eyes, seemed so easy. As I sat in church every Sunday, the only reason I really wanted to be there was to hear the music. I never really understood what the sermon was about, or why everyone loved it so much. As a young person I was never really close with God. Yes I knew who he was, I knew all the major the bible stories, and I gave my life to him when I was baptized. But I never felt like I knew him well. Little did I know, God was about to use my dreams of becoming a drummer to teach me more and bring me closer then I could ever imagine.

It is astonishing to me how far I have come in such little time. I went from the person who didn't really know God and was ready to give up, to a person that uses the ability he has given me to minister to people everywhere. As a worship drummer I am now part of three worship bands in the Fredericksburg area. Including the River of Life youth worship band. The Fredericksburg United Methodist youth worship band. And of course where it all began, the Fredericksburg United Methodist full-time worship band. This experience that taken me all over Fredericksburg. But possibly the most remembered experience is when God took me to Hampton VA. Where most youth have little to no spiritual structure. My ministering there and showing them that anything is possible was a life changing experience. As the band and I played we began to see peoples lives change in a matter of seconds.
