Becoming A Cardiovascular Surgeon

Ever since I was little, my ultimate career goal was to become a cardiovascular surgeon. I became interested in this career ever since I watched a documentary on a heart surgeon perform surgery on his patient. The techniques that heart surgeons do on their patients intrigue me. From using a scalpel to using a Ventricular Assist Device (VAD), I became even more engrossed in learning about the heart and its functions.
One reason HMSA can help me achieve my ultimate career goal because they offer Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Calculus classes. The classes you take and activities you do in high school play a role in shaping you as both a member of society and as a college applicant. If I do get accepted to HMSA, I can take these classes and
