The field of cardiology is growing at 14 percent. Being a cardiologist requires a lot of education and hard work. It is not an easy job but can be very rewarding helping people. In this career you get to help people live and work alongside with other people. Becoming a cardiologist is an interesting career because they deal with patients of all ages and work with the heart. A cardiologist does a lot hard work and works many hours. Major duties are that “they may treat patients with heart defects, heart infections, heart arrhythmias (irregular heartbeats), or hypertension (high blood pressure)”(SDMyLife). Work hours include day and night shifts. They usually work in hospitals and medical clinics and may be on call. The workplace is working along side with nurses and other doctors. A cardiologist has to be able to work with other people and have a hard work ethic. …show more content…
First cardiologist needs a bachelor's degree and then go to medical school. After medical school you need to complete a three year residency and then complete a 3-4 year training program. “ you should be a good communicator who enjoys helping people. You must be able to withstand stress and be willing to work hard and put in long hours. Strong decision-making skills are important.
