Becoming a Wisconsin Badger is a goal in life I am currently striving for. The University of Wisconsin-Madison has great academics and a lot of academic opportunities to take advantage. University of Wisconsin-Madison has over 4000 courses to take and 232 undergraduate majors and certificates that I am willing to look into before settling on one. I am mainly interested in math, science, business, and genetic majors, but as I experience other opportunities that may easily change. I have been competing varsity track since I was in eighth grade and had received varsity letters every single year that I have competed. With my hometown church, I have been going on mission trips, which I have helped others in need in different areas of the country. My favorite mission trip was the most recent in San Diego California; it was a humanitarian mission trip. My church and I helped the estuaries that have been taken over by invasive species, dropped water by the border saving people from dying of thirst, and we also helped out the homeless by participating in soup kitchens and homeless shelters. Going on a mission trip really brings out the true person I am by showing I care about others that do not always feel they are loved and wanted. I also have to show some leadership on my mission trips as we are separated in to different groups and are working to get a task done by the end of the day. Lastly, I am a mentor for Big Brother Big Sister. Working with a younger youth helping her strive for greatness really impacts both her and myself. Big Brother Big Sister is an awesome program that never leaves a child in need of a positive role model behind. They match you based on your interests making sure everyone has a match they can relate to. Being a mentor for a younger youth has really made my leadership skills shine by making sure the child I am helping feels like they are making the progress they need and receiving the help that will make their future

Books have made a huge impact on my future goals; besides getting to explore a wide range of philosophies and personalities, writers such as Plato and Nietzsche influenced my perception of various aspects of my life and the world as a whole. Specifically, On the Genealogy of Morals, by Nietzsche, provoked my curious mind and ever-growing cravings for each and every element of knowledge. It grabbed my attention to how biology and philosophy could be braided into one; I loved how it united two perceived to be fundamentally divergent systems, portrayed their interactions and how they could proceed together, thus leading to a quantum leap in both. Further on, it steered my mind to focus on uniting every aspect of my life and discerning that all it requires to merge my keen interest in pursuing a degree in finance and my lifelong dedication to martial arts, is creating a balance.…
