Beauty magazines have an abundance of before and after photos that have been posted online, where the original image looks nothing like the new image. Some people even look like they‘ve dropped an uncountable number of pounds. One example of this is Kelly Clarkson. A retoucher from Self magazine slimmed Clarkson down drastically. She looked as though she had lost a few dress sizes and her face had slimmed down drastically. Her skin seemed to have more of a shine to it and her face glowed. Even her hair seemed to have more shine and color. Clarkson, a woman who shows off her body proudly no matter what size she is, or how she looks, felt that this shouldn’t have happened. Three other women were altered in this experiment and they too had similar reactions. This shows that changing yourself doesn’t always make a woman see themselves as more beautiful, it shows that no amount of change can truly make a woman more beautiful. Women should embrace what makes them different because it makes them their own kind of beautiful. Some women, however don’t get the chance to see how they would look if they changed. Some women go for it, convinced that it will make them more beautiful. This, though, leaves some women disappointed with the results and they then keep changing their appearance through surgery after surgery to try and fix the distortion. Maybe they feel disappointed with the results considering women are not meant to change their face so drastically. If most
