We ask ourselves, why would we want a product that is essentially damage, but realizing that if society say rip jeans is not “damage” then it is not “damage. Therefore, relates to the idea of if society say this is “beauty” then of course, we all feel the need to comfrom because we want to feel “normal” and be apart of an idea that everyone seems to agree with. Why would we want to fight against popular belief from millions of supporters just to hold our own individual argument. This also relates to races and beauty now because, in our society, although we have different beauty standards from the Twilight Zone, we have the exact same concept of the representation of race in beauty. White being the most superior race according to history, just shows that now in modern time we have the most beauty ideals related to that races. Growing up in an Asian Community, every girl in school wanted to dye their hair blond and get blue contacts even though that was not culturally accepted in my community.
