Character foils are present in almost any book, and Beatrice and Benedick from Much Ado About Nothing, by William Shakespeare, is no exception. This book focuses mainly on this huge situation that consists of a chain of events that could’ve been avoided completely if approached in an entirely different manner. Many of the characters are on a quest to find love, including Benedick and Beatrice. The two, at the beginning of the play, had a burning hatred for the other, until a friend of Benedick’s put together a plan to have Benedick and Beatrice to realize their true feelings for one another and fall in love.
