In my opinion, Benedick and Beatrice aren't really an ideal couple because even though it might seem that they have a lot in common. It can also be seen as very different people. Their views of love, marriage and social roles may be the same but that doesn't mean the it makes them ideal for eachother. Throughout the play Beatrice claims that, “Very easily possible. He wears his faith but as the fashion of his hat; it ever changes with the next block” (1.1.73-75). Benedick and Beatrice have being far more witty and experienced to show a more mature approach to love and feelings. Benedick in the play he claims, “Then is courtesy a turncoat… I would i could find in my heart that i had not a hard heart, for truly i love none” (1.1.122-125). Beatrice express her hatred for love when she says,”I had rather heard a dog bark at a crow than a man swear he loves me” (1.1.129-130). The both Beatrice and Benedick say they’ll never love anyone. This little spar is likely saying “Of course we’ll never love each other”. Invulnerability to falling in love is a point of pride for them
