In this case Pat Jr. will throw fits when he hears his wedding song and gets very upset or stressed whenever anything about his ex-wife Nikki is mentioned. Tiffany lives a very stressful life her husband just passed away and she is known as a whore because she sleeps with many different people.…

132). Sometimes in group therapy, it is important to consider the experiences each member is dealing with, yet it is also pivotal to the progress of the group to consider how other members are reacting both verbally and nonverbally to one another. Before reading this novel, I was unsure of what content versus process entailed. I associated process with the procedures of the meeting rather than the reactions of the members. Through reading about the group’s progress from the eyes of Julius, the facilitator, I was finally able to grasp the distinction between content and process.…

According to Berman and Fransen and Snyder (2016) explained a few things that a nurse can do to make the client comfortable is to get to know one another and gain trust from the client. The first step is to introduce yourself to the client and let the client know your role as a nurse. Relaxed conversations regarding the weather, or a simple comment regarding how beautiful a piece of jewelry is that they are wearing can create a relaxing atmosphere. If there is any resistance in the conversation the nurse needs to display interest in the client and express that you care about the client which will help gain trust of the client. Once a client feels less anxious they will be more willing to open up about their concerns (p. 423).…

In and individual session, people felt more heard or seen in the session, comfortable with a therapist being with them through this process rather than other people. The sessions combined structured exercises and improvisation (Whitehouse, 1999). The use of imagery helped clients explore movement within themselves and how they would act based on the image created. This allowed clients to go as deep as they wanted to go with the image and allowed it to be tailored to each individual. Whitehouse was flexible with the activities she had the group do depending on her interests for the that day but also where they were and what they needed as well.…

On November 9th, Erin and I co-facilitated a group discussion around trauma-informed practice as part of our Group Facilitation assignment as second-year nursing students. The process consisted of choosing a peer-reviewed article related to trauma-informed practice, then creating a Facilitation Plan around the article and relevant course theory, and finally facilitating a group discussion. As the next step towards the development of our group facilitation skills, we were assigned to write a critical reflection about the experience of facilitating a group discussion. Through this paper I provided a summary of our group facilitation experience, explored group dynamics, what I perceived as our strengths and challenges, what I have learned from…

Throughout the year, as a class we have been given many different challenges in either the form of an essay, speech, or group presentation. The final assignment given to us was a group project presentation. From growing up in an age filled with technology, I have come to love projects that revolve around making some form of a PowerPoint presentation. This PowerPoint though, was both difficult and interesting for the reasons of being assigned group members not of my own choosing, learning to listen to others ideas which can help me to learn something new, and using former knowledge while working together to create a clean, in depth, and well prepared presentation. With working in groups of students whom I have known since I was young but…

Overall, I was extremely happy with the effort my group put into this project. In terms of attending the group meetings, everyone was present and participated in the discussion. The first meeting took place on a Sunday afternoon at Baruch and the second meeting took place on a weeknight in the form of a Google Hangout. The times and places of these meetings alone displayed every group members’ commitment to the project, effort to accommodate for scheduling conflicts, and effort to ensure they are contributing their fair share to the group regardless the time or day of the week. At these meetings, we discussed ways to engage the crowd and critiqued each other’s slides and presentations.…

For instance, our group member Erik and Jo always said some words of praise and encouragement, such as “we are really a good group”.…

Firstly, we welcomed ideas from everyone, without setting any criteria. Our project was to reinvent any product with more features that will be helpful for public.
