Taking a deep breath of the salty breeze made me realize how sleepy, I am, and how this beach has a strange aroma that reminds me of a powerful sleeping drug. The sounds of crashing waves are slowly diminishing, and I feel exhausted to the bones. As the light starts fading my eyes feel heavy and ponderous.
When I awaken my eyes wander to the moon, which took dominance of the sky, and night has befallen. I check my phone and gasp in shock. My fingers dance swiftly on the keyboard of my phone as I am texting back my mom frantically. While running into my hotel with haste, I immediately start packing swiftly. While waiting fearfully for my mother’s enrage response. Continuing to multitask, I thought back to a few days before my trip, how we agreed that I would provide her with daily updates of where I am to ease her mind. At first I thought it was exceedingly tedious, but eventually accepted that it was for my own safety. My hands frantically lunge for the phone in my pocket when it starts to beep. I curse loudly as I look to my phone in disbelief; a call from my mother!
