Dear, Point Pleasant Beach High School

I would like to thank Beach's program for touring me around the school during the open house and Dr. Grosshandler for taking the time out of his day to discuss my possible future with Point Pleasant Beach and its amazing academic program. Beach has gained a reputation of producing intelligent students and sending them off to college. Being considered for a program with such a productive system brings a monumental amount of joy to me and my family. Over the course of this school year, I have begun to realize the difference between my old school, Point Pleasant Boro, and my new school, Spring Lake Heights. Heights has a smaller population which benefits the students for multiple reasons. Not only do the students know and care about each other a great amount, every student obtains the

My goals would involve the high honor roll, extra curricular activities, and the basketball team. Success flows through my blood. I would partake in anything imaginable to obtain my goals. Hours on end would be spent on studious actions. Constantly my basketball craft would improve because of the gym rat tendesis that I have. People may say that the sky's the limit, but how could that be the case if there are footprints on the moon. That my mindset that I always have had will be an excellent fit for Beach. When gazing upon the college commits portrayed along the wall in one of the large hallways, I was in awe. The thoughts that rushed through my mind zoomed a mile a minute. I should make that wall. I can make that wall. I will make that wall. To reach the glorious accolade of achieving college, I will do whatever it takes. Beach’s program is a fascinating journey, and conquer it I shall. And along that journey many attributes will be altered. Not only academically, my maturity level will be the opposite of obsolete. Greatness is my floor. Impossible is my

Academic Argument To be considered a top recruit you don’t even have to display your intelligence all you need to display is the athletic ability that you have obtained. The film “Hoop Dreams” shows the two main characters being pursued by college coaches because of what they could potentially bring to the team not what they can bring to the school. The only time education was important to Arthur and William was when their high school coach or counselor informed them that they had to reach a set score to be able to be recruited and attend the high-powered school. School was never the focus of the film because it only showed them in school for approximately two minutes it primarily took place at their homes or on the court during a game. The…

After high school, most students attend college in order to become qualified for a successful future career. In today’s society, attending a top-rated university or Ivy League institution is seen as the ticket for embarking on such a path. Yet because these programs are so competitive, the application process has become unnecessarily devastating, involving extensive test prep, unending academic pressure, exhaustive hours of extracurricular activities that may or may not earn a student an impressive mark of distinction, and emotionally draining interviews, campus visits, and networking events. The message revolving around college admissions is even worse than the agony of the application process itself—a message that a student’s worth and value…

You’re one of the few who are at the center of my character and Christian based education and I owe you and the school more than I could ever give monetarily. I thank you for pouring your life into me when I was much younger and then as an adult when you sent a “rock” with me into combat. One day early in fall 2013 semester, my first at The University of Texas at Austin, I learned of the news that a former football and basketball teammate of mine in high school threw his college athletic career down the drain. The all-district and all-state multi-sport sensation had a bright future ahead of him. This was until he walked away from his scholarship to return home. Sure, up to that point I had heard of the many stories of individuals not taking advantage of the opportunities that athletics can offer; however, this news was different to me. I could not comprehend why he would give up the opportunity that his athletic talent allowed him to receive.…
