I chose the role of Vice President of Finance for BCS Incorporated. Despite a difficult year, we were able to remain profitable. I was instructed to establish the best way to obtain 50 million dollars to fund additional facilities. The first decision my team had to make was choosing to go public or obtain a loan at a rate of 5%. Of course, launching an IPO may take a little longer, considering the proceeds will be used to fund the new facility, but it is interest free. Whereas, the loan is immediate, but there will be interest accrual, which will affect the bottom line. I chose to launch the IPO.
Secondly, I had to decide whether to consolidate the short term debt into long term loan at a 4.2% interest rate or payoff short term debt

1.) Authorize euthanasia and unrestricted sale: “Current restrictions placed on BLM limit their ability to sustainably and cost-effectively manage wild horses and burros. Authorizing unrestricted sale and euthanasia as permitted by the 1971 Act will enable BLM to relieve themselves of the high costs of caring for these animals indefinitely.” (wild horse range pg.3). This is a very unpopular solution with animal rights activist, however the National Horse & Burro Advisory Board has worked on several recommendations to appease both sides, such as, “Direct agencies to euthanize excess animals for which an adoption demand does not exist pursuant to the 1971 Act and/or sell animals that either 1) are over 10 years of age or 2) have been passed up for adoption 3 times, under a 2004…
