Everywhere we turn people are using some form of social media. Whether watching YouTube videos, scrolling through Instagram, or perusing Facebook newsfeeds, we look to social media for entertainment, business and even academic purposes.
Facebook is one of many social media websites available today. It is also one of the most popular (BusinessDictionary.com). Facebook is used worldwide by a variety of people of all ages and genders. We could all use some good laughs. I still remember when the “Numa Numa” video came out. Some friends got my son addicted to watching Gary Brolsma, the “Numa Numa Guy”. Then Judson Liapply uploaded the “Evolution of Dance” which I enjoyed. With my boys being involved in soccer, another friend showed us the “Top Soccer Shootout Ever with Scott Sterling” video and we could not stop laughing.
I also use YouTube to further my business by watching how-to videos for my company. There are many other people who are successful with Plexus and have been kind enough to share their tips on how to be just as successful.
Businesses and people use YouTube to sell products and services. They can place advertisements before videos or clickable links on the video. Tim Hawkins is a Christian comedian who uses YouTube to share his talent with the world. He even has his own channel on YouTube. Channels make it easier to view all the videos a person or business has uploaded. Kohls department store is another business using YouTube to keep their brand in the public’s eye. They advertise when new merchandise arrives or when they are running specials and discounts for various holidays. The Union Pacific Railroad company even has public safety announcements that play before the videos. They are one of many companies and businesses that advertise through “commercials” before videos
