The U.S. healthcare system has long been provider-centered, price-driven, and reactive. Frequent changes in administration and policies remind me of the need to bring new innovative ways of thinking to the healthcare industry to increase health outcomes for patients. Over the next five years, I look forward to building a knowledge base around the intersectionality of business and healthcare to find ways to enhance the patient experience through strategy and technology integration. Post-MBA, a consulting career would provide me with an opportunity to partner with a variety of clients to solve their most pressing issues and learn industry best practices alongside a diverse team of individuals with unique perspectives. I desire to work in an environment that embraces challenges, pushes boundaries, and develops its employees. I strongly believe BCG is that place. …show more content…
The invaluable experience to be mentored by a member of this exceptional community will help me navigate through business school to identify ways to best maximize my time. I envision a BCG mentor who will help me assess my strengths and weaknesses, develop my skills, and provide guidance on how to prepare for a career as a consultant. I attribute much of my success to date to mentors I have had through organizations such as the National Society of Black Engineers and Management Leadership for Tomorrow.
