To say that violence is abound in battle royale is an understatement. Battle Royale is Takami Koshun’s insight into the issues faced byadult world of Japan. What is seen as a violent deathmatch between students is actually an representation of the struggles that middle school children face as they transition into adults. Events that take place in Battle royale highlight some of the major issues that Japan’s society face.

She sees men as being ruled by their sexual desires and has learned to manipulate them because of this. An example of Mitsuko’s manipulative prowess can be seen when she tricks Yuichiro Takiguchi into untying her and then her sexual manipulations when she tries to seduce Tadakatsu Hatagami.
