Battle of the Coral Sea
This study presents a thesis proposal on the causes of the Battle of the Coral Sea, the outcome, the weapons that were used during this battle, and the commanders from both sides who led this battle. The proposal will be divided into the following five sections: Introduction
The Battle of the Coral Sea was one of the greatest naval battles ever experienced along the Australian shores. In this battle, the United States of America fought with Australian forces against the Japanese forces. This was because the Japanese wanted to invade the Australian shores and take over the Port Moresby. The Battle of the Coral Sea took place from 4th May in 1942 to the 8th of May in the same year. Some believe this was the battle that saved Australia. This is because it led to the country’s victory in defending a very important part of the Australian shore. The Battle of the Coral Sea was the first battle of the naval forces that only involved carrier aircraft. Each of the opposing forces could afford to stage an aircraft battle and there was no moment when the surfaces ships from either side fired against the other force. The Battle of the Coral Sea was a significant battle in the History of the world wars.
