When the German army gets through to the northern part of France, it ends up cutting making British troops having to cut off from the French allies. Weapons used during this battle were machine guns such as the Chatellerault M1924/29 (imfdb 1), submachine guns such as the MP40 (imfdb 1), as well some Revolvers were used such as Webley .38 Mk IV and Lee-Enfield No.1 MkIII* rifles. (imfdb 1) and there was the amount of weapons used (BBC UK, 1) Meanwhile during the battle the soldier only could hide in their ships and if they were on land either found a hiding spot or only just pretend to be dead on the ground if there were getting attacked by the Germans. Plus, the Germans as well assumed that the British had no way of getting all their troops off the continent. As well The naval ships only could carry a certain number of soldier and really couldn’t get through the shallow water around Dunkirk. The British government requisitioned hundreds of small boats ferries, fishing ships, merchant craft to get the men off the beaches.
