The Attack Took 3 parts With General William Tecumseh Sherman Who attacked the confederate troops under the order/command of Patrick Cleburne at tunnel hill. While Sherman Began To Trudge Tunnel Hill. Grant Order Thomas to extend his line to Missionary Ridge to see how Bragg would react. To the south under the cover of dense fog that would stay throughout the battle. Hooker’s troop advanced up Lookout Mountain without meeting any opposition troops. Hooker’s troops reached the confederate line at 10 a.m. meeting with the confederate major General Carter Stevenson who is stationed to defend. Carter Stevenson is at a HUGE disadvantage with only 1,200 men defending the mountain while Hookers is attacking with 12,000. Also confederate general and Major Carter Stevenson’s artillery was not placed well for countering the Union forces. So intense Fighting have Begun on Cravens House. Nevertheless, Stevenson’s did not stood a chance and slowly started to withdraw towards the crest.
