Batman Morally Good Man

Decent Essays
According to Barcalow, virtues are defined as the good or praiseworthy traits and vices are defined as the bad or blameworthy traits (Barcalow, Pg. 115). A morally good person has many virtues with few vices. On the other hand, a morally bad person has many vices and lack virtues.

If we look at Batman and the Joker, Batman is a morally good person. He has courage shown how he risks his life and well –being to protect Gotham. He’s just an ordinary human with no extraordinary powers. He provides justice in Gotham by removing criminals off the streets of Gotham. In doing so he removes the criminals with mercy sparing their life. By doing this, Batman shows a sense of strength and unselfishness as the criminals may return back to the streets

Medina explains the three vices of the privileged as well as the causes of, or paths to, each. They can just walk up to another player and stand near them to charge scarves. Players that have a high score in friendliness may not like this feature of the game because they can’t communicate via voice and it’s not a very personal experience.…

In order to be truly good, a person must live a good life by adhering to their personal values and values that are commonly known to be virtues. Some people may argue that virtues are learned and others may claim that they are inherited, however, both can undoubtedly be true. Some of the positive traits that can be considered virtuous are, but not limited to honesty, generosity, courage, and loyalty. Sometimes we act a certain way because we believe it is the right thing to do, but we do not focus on what is considered as right to others. For instance, I may lie to my friend that his hairstyle looks good because I do not want to hurt his feelings, but let’s assume he goes to work and his colleagues makes fun of his haircut.…

Goodness: Virtue thus came to mean, not moral goodness in itself considered, but goodness militant and triumphant. Virtue then, in its more usual sense at the present time, denotes conduct in accordance with the right, or with the fitness of things, on the part of one who has the power to do otherwise. But in this sense there are few, if any, perfectly virtuous men. There are criterions to recognize cardinal virtues: there are fitnesses and duties appertaining, first, to one's own being, nature, capacities, and needs; secondly, to his relations to his fellow-beings; thirdly, to his disposition and conduct with reference to external objects and events beyond his control; and fourthly, to his arrangement, disposal, and use of objects under his…
