BOOM! Everywhere on the street buildings are exploding. The bright flames and shattering glass terrify ongoing civilians. People in odd make-up and costumes use various weapons to create chaos on the once calm street. The gang of people robs stores and drag the owners away. That is, until Batman comes. In his suit as dark as night, he grabs two of the evildoers by their eccentric clothes and bashes their heads together. They fall down immediately. This startles the gang and a few of the members circle and challenge Batman. Their menacing faces stare at him as they smirk wickedly. With a calm and blank expression, Batman kicks and punches the villains, sending them flying into the road. As more and more gang members run toward Batman, he counters …show more content…
According to the Batman Wiki, “Although he has no superhuman powers, Batman’s unstoppable determination and strength of will make him an extremely formidable opponent” (Batman Wiki). Because of Batman’s own willpower he has been able to do extraordinary things, without the assistance of superpowers. By using his determination of wanting to protect the city, he has created out-of-this-world technology to assist him in his crime fighting. Superman just uses his superpowers, which requires no extra mental perseverance. Also stated on the Batman Wiki, “He is widely considered as the world's greatest detective, capable of observation, forensic investigation, and inductive and deductive reasoning of the highest caliber. Human intuition is an unlearnable trait and one of Batman’s most effective tools. Given any mystery, he can arrive at the correct conclusion with a fraction of data.” (Batman Wiki) While Batman can solve incredibly difficult investigations with his mind-blowing intelligence, Superman uses his alien powers, which Batman does not need. Batman and Superman both have to face many mentally challenging obstacles, the difference is Batman doesn’t rely on any unnatural abilities to overcome them. Another text from the Batman Wiki states, “ Given his lack of superpowers, he often uses cunning and planning to outwit his foes, rather than simply “out-fighting” them.”

In my opinion, Batman is morally justified in his reasoning for not committing murder due to the balance he has between Utilitarianism and Kantianism. To Batman, killing is an immoral act that hurts not only the victim but also the killer. Every murder is wrong because it removes one more person from the world and creates another murderer. It’s the consequences that Batman avoids, but he does so because of how he values human life. Many stories involve Batman convincing criminals out of committing murder; he would not have the same impact if he were known to kill his enemies.…

Firstly, I would like to use the source of “War on Terror” to point out batman “gadgets” and how he is one of the most powerful men of his world. I would like to bring in the idea that batman has all the financial spending power that other people do not have. I will connect this to the notion of the power that others such as villains wish for, but they cannot have. As a result, batman creates a huge advantage among his competitors or villains.…

A major theme in this graphic novel is that Batman the main protagonist and The Joker the main antagonist are a mirror of each other. They both have had traumatizing moments in their life that had driven them mad but they each reacted in a different way. Batman reacted to his parents murder by trying to stop needless crime and violence and stopping at nothing to do so. The Joker reacted to his wife's death and him falling into the polluted water by becoming completely mad.…

On the other hand, Batman refuses to kill as he believes that in his own mind that to kill is to fall to the level of villains like the Joker and Bane. He learns from himself and indirectly from his former mentor Ra’s Al Ghul, that compassion is what separates and differentiates them from the villains and criminals of society. “I won't kill you, but I don't have to save you”(Batman Begins); were his final words to his former mentor and teacher Ra’s Al Ghul as he left the train before its explosion. Al Ghul was a genocidal terrorist that wishes to destroy civilization in order to rebuild it, Batman could not leave Al Ghul alive without risking serious consequences such as endangering the lives of many others, so given…

The character of Batman is considered to be one of the world’s classic and modern day superhero. His story has taken on many different forms from comics, to TV series, and to today’s modern cinematography. However, I want to discuss the story of Batman and its famous characters based off of the 2000’s version of the current films. We have all come to know Batman as a vigilante who fights bad people as he conceals his true identity as Gotham’s renowned playboy and millionaire, Bruce Wayne. I want to use the personas of Bruce Wayne, Batman, and the well-known villains of this universe because of how they relate to the many ideas used in psychology.…

Symbolism is another significant portion in Bruce Wayne’s life as Batman. Freud would say that not only were Bruce’s dreams forms of symbolism, but also, more significantly and recognizably, Batman’s Batsuit and name. As previously stated, Bruce came up with the batsuit when seeing a swarm of bats. He then decided on the name because he felt that villains would also fear bat, as they are a symbol of the night. Another form of analysis that Freud could make about Batman and his life is by using his idea of the doctrine of opposites.…

Christopher Nolan has arguably created the best Batman film. The Batman in The Dark Knight has taken the approach of a more vigilante role with ambiguous morals. The definition of a vigilante is member of a self-appointed group of citizens who undertake law enforcement into their own community without legal authority, typically because the legal agencies are thought to be inadequate. By the definition above Batman is a vigilante because he is a self-appointed citizen of Gotham City who took law into his own hands without legal authority because he views the police to be inadequate.…

When we think of Batman, the words “hope”, “justice”, and “incorruptibility” come to mind. He is The Dark Knight, a bat vigilante who fights to keep the fictional streets of Gotham safe. He is arguably one of the greatest superheroes ever created. He fights crime and faces some of the most insane villains in comic book history. What makes him stand out from the rest is that, as Wikipedia states, “unlike most superheroes, Batman does not possess any superpowers; rather, he relies on his genius intellect, physical prowess, martial arts abilities, detective skills, science and technology, vast wealth, intimidation, and indomitable will.”…
