Batman Compare And Contrast Essay

In more ways than one, the Batman and Joker are very similar. Though one fights for justice and the other is pure comical chaos, they are the same, that is why they never truly end each other and will continue the endless cycle they are stuck in. While some would disagree with this, others say that the Bat is just as insane as the joker, maybe even more. There are times in comics, for example “The Killing Joke”, that have more or less proven this point. For example, at the end of the comic, while the two stand in the rain waiting for the police to arrive, the Joker tells Batman a joke. The Jokers is practically hysterically laughing at this point, but a small moment passes, and then…. Batman joins him. At first it’s a small chuckle, but very soon he is cackling alongside the crook. Some believe this is where the Joker truly breaks the Bat, making said hero a little more like himself. But there are, of course, several ways that they are different. One being the obvious, Batman being The Dark Knight, the other, The Clown Prince of Crime. Now, while they both come from terrible tragedies, Batman has chosen the side of good. The reason why he did …show more content…
They are more than likely obsessed with each other, concluding why the always end at a stalemate. The Batman never ends the Joker’s chaos, despite his one rule, because he is obsessed with the fact that this completely insane man is the only one who can keep up with him. To this, I say that Batman just never wants to stop being a hero, so he keeps the Joker alive. The same cannot be said, or written, about the Joker. The only reason the Joker becomes so obsessed with Batman is because he wants to make a point. The Clown Prince wants the Dark Knight to really kill him. He wants it this way because he wants the world to know that people are basically more chaotic than orderly, which makes people, or readers, wonder if this is actually

The line between what's good and what's evil seems a simple idea in itself, just a line dividing the two, right? However, what you don't think about are the footnotes that cross and cover the line with justifications and designated loopholes made by those who believe certain things must be accounted for when considering what is actually right and wrong. Supposing that Batman were on a side, he'd be one of those sticky notes teetering on the line that divides what he believes in, and what he is capable of. The Joker repeatedly belittles and physically abuses Harley in all versions of the Batman Comics, television shows, and movies. In my opinion, Batman is morally justified in his reasoning for not committing murder due to the balance he has between Utilitarianism and Kantianism. To Batman, killing is an immoral act that hurts not only the victim but also the killer. Every murder is wrong because it removes one more person from the world and creates another murderer. It’s the consequences that Batman avoids, but he does so because of how he values human life. Many stories involve Batman convincing criminals out of committing murder; he would not have the same impact if he were known to kill his enemies.…

Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight is one of the best iterations of Batman since the concept of Batman was first created in 1939; the film offers easy to digest bites of philosophy and a deeper look into human nature. At the same time, The Dark Knight provides insight into society's views on mental illness, what society believes mental illness looks like, and society's views toward the justice system. The Dark Knight is the highest grossing Batman film since the first Batman movie (ironically named Batman: The Movie) in 1966, and was even awarded "Movie of the Year" by AFI Awards. Despite the film's success and acclaim, what does The Dark Knight say about society's views on mental illness and our justice system?…

No city wants to lose multiple lives in a terrorist type attack, but would rather kill the one person behind all the attacks that kill innocent men and woman. The Joker is that “terrorist” type criminal that Gotham City is unfortunately stuck with. His attacks on the community are ruthless and he shows no remorse at all in what he just did. He makes these attacks for no reason and as the Joker said in the 2008 movie, The Dark Knight, directed by “Do I look like a guy who has a plan?” as he was talking to Two Face a man who the Joker trapped in a fire, causing half of his face to be burned off.…

Ideological Analysis of The Dark Knight Rises The 2012 film, The Dark Knight Rises is the third installment of the Batman trilogy directed by Christopher Nolan. The film is a portrayal of the constant battle between good and evil, and does so through the representation of our justice system. The lines between good and evil are hard to distinguish, however due to the police force in Gotham being as well known for its corruption, as it is for its actual crime fighting, and the Villains of the city often have an objective, which is questionably good for the city.…
