The Wife of Bath Tale can be connected to life today and teaches a message that is universal, no matter the time period that everyone should learn. During the tale, a knight rapes a women and is given a quest in order to keep him from being beheaded. After reading, it's easy to think that he should be punished to the full extent, since society today has no tolerance for those types of crimes. That statement is true however, every so often you have cases like Brock Turner who get let off easy for a despicable crime such as sexual assault.
