The band tries to shoot for an audience that has had experience with these things. They really “strike a chord” (ba dum tsss) with those type of people. As for others, they love the music anyway because the songs have a great melody and amazing riffs. Here is a part of the first track in Bad Blood (Pompeii): “But if you close your eyes, does it almost feel like you’ve been here before? But if you close your eyes, does it almost feel like (volume increase) you've been here before? Oh, how am I gonna be an optimist about this? Oh, how am I gonna be an optimist about this? But if you close your eyes, ay oh, ay ay oh, ay oh, ay ay oh, ay ay oh, ay oh.” Then the song continues. See the riff? That is a taste of Bad Blood by Bastille. The album Bad Blood also reflects on Bastille in an interesting way. Bastille has incredible musical skill, but they also show signs of guilt, sorrow, and depression in this album. They are somewhat showcasing themselves in a way that only some people would …show more content…
That’s fine, everyone has their own opinion. However, most people would listen to the tracks and think, “Wow, they put a lot of work into this album,” or, “This band really understands me as a person.” The album is very unique: Some of the things that we lose are mental or physical, and Bad Blood has songs about both. Take “Flaws.” The music video starts with a policeman writing down a report for a dead man (Dan Smith) on the beach; the dead man being covered in a sack beside him. The dead man gets up and walks to the boardwalk to review his sins. When the song slowly fades out, he ducks back under his sack, and the video ends. Compared to another big band in the music industry, Imagine Dragons, they aren’t all that different. For one thing, both of the band’s main vocalist’s name is Dan. Besides that, they both concentrate on the parts of life that matter, and their songs aren’t always upbeat and hip-hop, which is what most popular musicians are doing today. Both bands were extremely successful, and people will agree that both have produced a variety of great

"Mixed Blood” In this article the author intends to demonstrate that the idea of race is only a social/cultural development and a myth. The idea that individuals divided into particular race based on their "biological differences" is a fantasy it’s a myth, everything is just in our heads we have just created it as a community/society, race is not a thing that was always here, it’s only been here since humans have. And the author does a very good job explaining this with good scientific and historical facts that no one can disagree too. This article helped me realize the author’s message (of race just being in our heads), this is not something that I would have really thought about ever if it wasn’t for this article.…

    Poem By Big Pun

This dark and aggressive song, by Big Pun, promotes the idea of revenge, retribution and ruthlessness. It includes endless lines of pure violence and harsh messages written in breathtaking poetry, that is powerful enough to completely possess an individual’s attention. Big Pun is without a doubt lyrically gifted, but the morals and ethics he is advocating are troublesome for modern society. He describes murder as something he is born to do, essentially spreading the idea that he is good at it and proud. In addition to this, he raps about emotions of remorse being a negative thing, teaching people that “feeling bad” for others is not a desirable attitude.…

Until I met letlive. The way the singer connected with his music was beautiful. At one point he was crying, he was laughing and then after the first song I swear he had us all crying or moving along to the music, It was beautiful. In his play Where the Blood Mixes, Kevin Loring illuminates the origins and implications of the legacy of residential schools which remains prevalent in Indigenous communities in the twenty-first century. Loring strives not to diminish the experiences of residential school survivors, but to reconstruct how individuals in the twenty-first century view and represent survivors of residential schools. This goal is achieved through Loring’s depiction of characters that are sad, but loving and funny people with hobbies, people who are not consumed and defined by their residential school experiences but continue to feel its painful influence nonetheless. Loring presents the characters with charming yet heart wrenching humanity to illustrate…

As long as I can remember, population has always categorized individuals by their skin color, beliefs, traditions, etc. In the article “ One Drop of Blood” by Lawrence Wright, it explains that many people usually do not marry their own race and have children that do not have a race. Parents are most likely to be erroneous when it is time to choose or categorize their own children’s race. This happens because parents do not know whether their children are African American or White. Basically, they do not know what race their children belong to since there is not a multiracial race.…

This song talks about the speaker who is abused by her boyfriend but she stands by him because she loves him. This is similar to when we find out that Mayella was abused by her father but still loves him because well, it’s her father. They both show unhealthy relationships and how bad things can be at home. The mood in both of this song and the book is desperate. They are both desperate for love and will do anything to stay by their family/man.…
