It brings me out of my shell and makes me a totally different person when I am in practice or in the game. To some people it’s just a game. But I can’t say the same because every single day throughout my junior high and high school years I lived and breathed the game of basketball. Sadly, enough people didn’t know what I was capable of doing in games. I was the quite person. The only sounds radiating from the nearly empty gym court were the dribbling of a ball against the hard wooden floor and the occasional swish or clank of the hoop. Sweat drenched my red shirt, staining it a dark shade of maroon, and the shoelaces of my Nike Air Jordans were becoming undone, but I barely noticed as I continued to practice that Kyrie Irving move I saw during the 2013 All-Star Rookie-Sophomore game: cross between the legs, behind the back, in and out, cross left, step back, and shoot. Nothing but net. A quick thought crossed my mind.…
