The Black Mamba, Mr. 81, Kobe Wan Kenobi. Those are just some of the many titles Kobe Bryant is known by. Kobe “Bean” Bryant was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on August 23, 1978. Kobe Bryant was drafted straight out of high school, in the first round of the 1996 NBA Draft. Kobe was drafted to the Los Angeles Lakers and has been playing for them ever since. At the time Kobe was only seventeen years old and was the first guard to ever be taken out of high school.
