This year my goal is to improve my grades and create better study habits. I will be able to accomplish these goals by, refraining from going on my phone while doing homework/studying, putting in quality work, and using office hours here at school to go and talk with my teachers. Also, here at Serra I will be playing baseball as an extracurricular activity. Baseball has been my passion since the first time I played it when I was five years old and still playing Redwood Shores Little league. Ever since then, I admired playing, watching and studying the game of baseball. I look forward to our JV season this coming spring, as I know my whole my team will be successful. Something you should know about me is that I am looking forward to learning

Baseball: the sport where you stand around for 20 minutes and move 3 feet to the left and move 3 feet to the right. It’s so intense. It’s so intense that you could take a nap on the field with everything out there. Of course, I’m being sarcastic. The only time it’s actually fun is when you’re annihilating the other team while they’re asleep on the field.…

The game of baseball has always been in my life since I was a child. My love for the game began when I was five years of age signing up for tee ball at the local little league. As a child, I would imagine myself as a professional ballplayer. I would mimic my idols every chance I had or I would dream of myself being in a critical situation to win the game and to make history. Now, I am chasing my dream by trying to become one of those greats who played the game.…

I played sophomore baseball for Senior over the summer. It was the best season I've ever had as a Dubuque Senior High School baseball player. I was the pitcher on the team, also known as the "Ace". Before the last couple of games we had an anonymous team vote on which award people should get. At the end of the season we had a potluck with the varsity team and the sophomore team.…

Baseball was the majority of my summer weekends, and I would have it any other way. Long weekends at hotels all across the state from Battle Creek to Frankenmuth, we played baseball where ever it was to be played. But these stages could not prepare me for where I was about to play next. The University of Dayton baseball stadium, the nicest natural field I have ever played on. It was beautiful from the seats, the mound, the outfield wall, it was all gorgeous.…

The day was hot! It was the middle of July in Texas after all and the time was about 4:00pm almost the hottest part of the day, and although, it was in the mid-90s, the humidity made it feel like it was in the upper 100s. There was a nice breeze coming off of the bay which kind of made the weather bearable. However, the weather could not hold our excitement down or make us feel miserable because we were attending our very first baseball game. It was Americas past time and we could see why.…

My recurrent shoulder dislocations were a constant battle, but a battle in which I’d always won. After a dislocation, all it took was a couple weeks of physical therapy before I could return to the baseball field. Although, after my fifth dislocation I ended up sitting in the hospital awaiting the results of my MRI with an uncomfortable feeling in my stomach. My surgeon soon returned with news that my injury required a season-ending surgery. Thus, I had a Bankart Repair on my throwing shoulder, and afterwards, although devastated, I supported my teammates from the sidelines for the entirety of the season.…

What I was looking forward to doing my senior year, was leading my team as a senior to the best we could be. I was working harder than I ever had all winter long leading up to this. I had one goal that I did not see happen any of my four years there, which was getting to the state championship. There were a lot of things that had to go right for this to happen. The team had to be good, they had to work hard every day, they had to win districts, they had to win regional’s, and the most importantly the team had to get along great they have to be a family.…

A specific time in my life and something I would never forget was when my father taught me about the game baseball. It all started out when we moved from Texas about when I was starting preschool.…
